Vegetables: Our standards for responsible agriculture

What’s the issue?

Our standards require that all our vegetables are responsibly grown and harvested. We work daily to develop more sustainable long-term agricultural practices, whilst seeking to reduce the impact we have on the environment.

What’s our approach?

We grow vegetables to our own proprietary Code of Practice and have our standards certified by an independent expert organisation.  We do this in partnership with our growers and farmers. Some of the key aspects in this Code include:

  • Maximising food yield and nutritional quality whilst keeping resource inputs and any wastage as low as possible.
  • Responsibly managing soil fertility, water and biodiversity though farm action plans.
  • Enabling local communities to maintain or improve their wellbeing and the environment they operate in.
